Case Studies: Strategic Planning
Our work supports the growth of confident, creative, financially stable community organisations.
The Whiteinch Centre was a funded capital project in Glasgow. They have huge social impact but as the project developed, there was a need to review and re-scope the business model to be more efficient and sustainable. We worked with the board and CEO to consider options and recommend new ways of working, new processes and a re-invigorated staff team.
The centre used this new vision and approach to lever in some investment and they are looking at a positive future with motivated team and a new approach to enterprise and sustainability.
Dad’s Rock believe that dads can and do play a vital role in the upbringing of their children. They did such good work that they were funded to provide a huge range of services from playgroups, to counselling and prison work. This resulted in massive organisational change for a small number of passionate volunteers to a staff team and a diverse portfolio of services. We helped to guide them through a strategic planning followed by support with board and process development.
The St Matthew's Centre
The St Matthew’s Centre has been offering vital support to the most vulnerable members of the Possilpark community in North Glasgow for the past 40 years. Historically, support has been ad hoc and poorly resourced. The Centre wanted to create something much more inclusive, vibrant and sustainable. We worked with them to reimagine the Centre as a key community resource, open and accessible for all, offering a cohesive and dynamic programme of activities which would be community led and build local resilience.
We developed a strategic plan for the Centre, demonstrating how it would deliver local and national priorities and this was used to secure capital and revenue funding over the next 3 years. Capital improvements to the building will be happening over the next 12 months and the Centre is about to employ its first a full time manager.
