Established around 20 ago, Community Enterprise Ltd first started operating as Community Enterprise Lothians in 1987. Originally funded by the Urban Regeneration Fund, CEL worked in deprived areas of Edinburgh developing local businesses and supporting local people.

Community Enterprise works collaboratively with the key intermediaries and other stakeholders in this rapidly developing sector.

Community Enterprise is made up of a friendly and committed team of business experts with tremendous expertise and long experience of working in the community, voluntary and social enterprise sectors.

At the heart of Community Enterprise, our core values influence all our decisions and should reflect the way we work together as a team as well as in our provision of services.

Community Enterprise has since its inception worked with a broad spectrum of clients and stakeholders in Central Scotland. Our clients range from individual social entrepreneurs to large established social businesses, from organisations working with homelessness and welfare to the environment and sustainable development, and from rural and coalfield regeneration areas to projects in Edinburgh's city centre.
