Working in Partnerships

Community Enterprise works collaboratively with key intermediaries and other stakeholders in the rapidly developing social enterprise sector.

As a good starting point for all social entrepreneurs, and for up to date information on the sector, we would direct clients towards Senscot.

In addition, organisations and individuals would potentially benefit from linking in with their related organisation Networks 1st where they could be connected to an appropriate networking group. This would either one which meets locally in the area or one whose members work in a similar field e.g. health, sport, youth etc.

Where the social entrepreneur is an individual we would signpost them for additional support, both in terms of capacity but also possibly for start up capital, towards First Port and depending on their geographic base to the Motivate to Innovate programme.

We work with CEiS as part of the Aspire to Enterprise programme, a government funded scheme which provides a range of Business Support Services to social enterprises in Lowland Scotland.

In addition to our own training programme, we work in partnership with BRAG  Enterprises to deliver training in various locations across Scotland.  For specific training we will also direct people to the excellent courses provided by the Social Enterprise Academy.

For community based organisations with multiple aims we would suggest that they consider setting up as a Development Trust and working with the support of the Development Trust Association Scotland (DTAS).

Other organisations we have close links with include:

Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition is the national collective voice for social enterprise in Scotland of which we are a founding member.

Social Firms Scotland is the national support body for the development and promotion of Social Firms in Scotland.

Community Recycling Network Scotland (CRNS) is the membership body for community recycling organisations throughout Scotland.
