Angus Voice is a project we manage in Tayside. It is for and led by people who have personal experience of accessing mental health services. The aim is to build the capacity and involvement of service users in improving the services that affect them. The project does this by campaigning, building partnerships and challenging stigma and discrimination, ultimately improving the way services are delivered.
It is generally acknowledged that people with direct experience of mental health problems have a unique perspective and expertise. Through collective advocacy, an opportunity exists to harness this expertise and use it to benefit and influence the ways in which mental health services in Angus are developed and run, to educate professionals and the public, and to empower and influence individual members’ lives.
"I would highly recommend the excellent work of Community Enterprise - very knowledgeable about the sector in which we operate and have greatly supported and assisted the partnership project in which we are engaged. Professional, reliable and highly responsive to our needs, giving clear pointers and great back-up. You know you are in good hands when you have Community Enterprise alongside you."
